Bienvenidos SY 2014-2015

Hola estudiantes y padres

I am Señorita Hiltscher and I am so excited to start a new school year!

This senester 8th grade Spanish 1 will be starting with unit 2 which we will learn about how to talk about our school day in español and compare our school, schedule and routine to that in Spanish speaking countries.

Unit 3: La comida (food, nutrition, health)
Unit 4: Los lugares (places, hobbies, sports)
Unit 5: Fiestas (family members, celebrations, ordering at a restaurant)

Exit exam: May for Track 1 and June for tracks 2,3,4

This exam is 20% of the students overall grade and also decides if they will receive high school credit for the 3 semesters of Spanish in middle school.  Students will be assessed on their proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, listening and grammatical exercises. They will be fully prepared by participating during class and reviewing notes at home. Also I recommend that students try to experience Spanish in the "real world" as much as possible!

Please email me if you have any questions or comments: chiltscher@wcpss.net

Gracias :)
